Why maintenance matters

A website should not be built once and then forgotten.

Software updates, outdated information, broken links and unnoticed form problems can affect the experience potential clients have with your business.

Regular maintenance helps identify visible issues, keeps important information current and provides practical support when small changes are required.

01
Software becomes outdated

WordPress, theme and plugin updates can be missed when nobody regularly checks them.

02
Business information changes

Services, contact details, documents, promotions and team information become outdated.

03
Forms and links stop working

Problems can go unnoticed until a potential client tries to make contact.

04
Small requests keep being delayed

Simple updates remain unfinished because nobody owns the website-maintenance process.

Compare maintenance plans

Choose the level of website upkeep your business needs.

Basic suits websites requiring essential monthly checks and one occasional update. Plus provides broader checks, more update capacity and faster support.

WordPress hosting eligibility must be confirmed first.

Websites with large databases, substantial traffic, advanced integrations, custom applications, extensive e-commerce requirements or unusually high storage may require a customised hosting quotation.

What the monthly review covers

Practical checks across the parts of the website that affect daily use.

Maintenance is a practical visual and functional review. It is not a complete security, performance or technical audit.

S 01

Software maintenance

WordPress core, theme and plugin update checks with suitable updates completed where reasonably safe.

F 02

Functionality review

Contact forms, navigation, important buttons and links are spot checked.

M 03

Mobile and desktop view

Key pages and updated areas are reviewed for obvious visible display problems.

C 04

Content updates

Agreed text, image, document, contact-detail and promotional changes are completed.

B 05

Backup visibility

Plus clients receive basic backup-status checks where the website environment supports them.

R 06

Monthly reporting

Receive a summary of checks, updates, issues and recommendations requiring attention.

What counts as a small update?

Focused changes to existing website content.

Monthly update requests must fit within the selected plan’s time allocation and existing website structure.

Larger layouts, new pages and complex development are separate projects rather than maintenance tasks.

01 Replace one image
02 Update contact information
03 Change business hours
04 Update a short paragraph
05 Replace a downloadable document
06 Update one button or link
07 Add a short notice or promotion
08 Correct basic formatting
Hosting and platform responsibilities

WordPress and Shopify websites are maintained differently.

The package supports both platforms, but hosting, subscriptions and software responsibilities are not identical.

W
Eligible WordPress websites

Hosting may be included

  • One standard WordPress business website
  • SSL where supported by the environment
  • Basic hosting availability checks
  • Standard hosting features
  • Basic hosting-related assistance
  • Backup functionality where available

Eligibility depends on the website’s size, condition, traffic, storage and technical requirements.

S
Shopify websites

Hosting is not included

  • Client retains the Shopify subscription
  • Client pays Shopify hosting and platform fees
  • Client maintains paid applications
  • Client maintains theme licences
  • Client remains responsible for transaction fees
  • CoShift supports agreed content and checks

The maintenance package does not replace the client’s Shopify account or subscription.

Moving a WordPress website to CoShift hosting is not automatically included.

The website must first be reviewed. A once-off migration or hosting setup fee may apply depending on the website size, database, storage, existing condition, custom functionality and DNS requirements.

Frequently asked questions

What businesses usually ask before choosing a maintenance plan.

Every website is reviewed before maintenance and hosting suitability is confirmed.

Is hosting included?

Standard shared hosting is included for one eligible WordPress business website. Eligibility depends on the website’s condition, storage, traffic and technical requirements.

Is Shopify hosting included?

No. Shopify clients continue paying for their Shopify subscription, hosting, applications, theme licences and platform fees.

Is website migration included?

No. Migration must first be reviewed and may require a separate setup or migration quotation.

What is the agreement period?

Both maintenance plans have an initial minimum agreement period of three months. Payment is made monthly in advance.

Can I request a new website page?

New pages, substantial sections and major layout work are not maintenance tasks. They can be quoted as separate website-development projects.

Does unused monthly time carry over?

No. The monthly allocation is reserved for that maintenance period and does not automatically carry over.

Are urgent requests included?

Urgent requests depend on availability and may carry an additional rush fee. Hosting outages and third-party service issues may also fall outside standard turnaround times.

Which plan should I choose?

Basic suits websites needing essential checks, one small request and up to 45 minutes of support. Plus suits active websites needing two requests, broader checks and up to two hours of support.

Keep the website maintained

Give your website regular attention before small problems become larger ones.

Share your website link and current platform. CoShift will review whether it qualifies for Basic, Plus or a customised maintenance arrangement.

Website migration or hosting setup may require a separate once-off quotation.
